International Volunteers Day – 5th December 2021

Happy International Volunteer Day!

Hello, my name is Molly and for the last few months I have been completing some work experience/ volunteering at Waterloo Community Counselling!

Firstly, a little bit about me! I am currently completing a Psychology MSc at the University of Essex and have a background in working for mental health organisations. Prior to joining WCC in October, I worked at the Royal College of Psychiatrists on their Curricula and Quality Assurance team.

I joined WCC in October and so far, have been loving the experience! I love working with the office team and have been very well looked after by Lucian, Marisa and Eric to name a few! My daily tasks include some admin and social media work (please give us a follow @WaterlooCC1!). I am looking forward to the new year and the office reopening so that I can begin to meet the counsellors and put some names to faces!

As a born and bred South Londoner it has been a real privilege for me to help and support the WCC team and the vital work that they do. For too long, mental health services have been inaccessible, so I am thrilled to be helping to provide low-cost services to my local community!

I look forward to meeting the rest of the WCC team in the New Year and hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
