Groups & Activities Summer 2023

“The vibe of the whole group was incredible! It was amazing to see that so many people from different cultures and countries were so happy and friendly. Despite being from a different country and a stranger, I felt very welcome”

Over the last few months our refugee and asylum-seeker social group has come together for some brilliant, summery activities

In April we were treated to a private tour of the historic Oval Cricket ground in South London. We must have some secret cricket fans as it was the largest group we have had come together so far! We caught a glimpse of Surrey Cricket Club training, and snooped around the private boxes, commentating booth and visited the Oval Cricket Museum.

Other recent meetups have involved cooking. A special shout out to Muhammed (not his real name) for showing us all how to cook up a delicious Pakistani feast (see pic above). Big thanks to the Healthy Living Platform for having us in their kitchen.

In June, to mark Refugee Week we visited the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich and spent time talking, eating, and playing games in Greenwich Park.

“Thanks for organising such inspiring outings”
