We have been joined in the office by two new volunteers. Tamily and Nisha both kindly donate one day per week of their time, working in the office supporting the team with essential administrative tasks. WCC could not run without the support of volunteers, and we are very grateful to all the volunteers who help WCC to keep running.
Tamily has kindly written about her experience of joining the admin team:
“I can honestly say that I get so much out of volunteering at Waterloo Community Center. The organisation has an extraordinary staff and I am amazed at the efficiency and care the organization shows its volunteers and clients. As a psychology student, I wanted to have a close experience with people in need. Being able to help the organization by joining pottery sessions for the clients was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I come away from these experiences feeling I’ve gained at least as much from the time spent as the patients may have. And for the few hours a week, I spend at the organization, learning each day new things, the impact is disproportionately rich for me. I think the organization is doing incredible work and I’m so happy to be a part of the team.”
